Resolved Question: Need help! Hud housing in Oregon and other programs?

16 April 2010, 1:07 pm

Ok, I currently live in Tillamook county, but its too hard here to find a decent job and go to school with no car. My bf broke it and wont fix it. I have been eith him for 4 years, we have a 3 yr old. I have been a stay at home mom for 2 yrs. I put off school so that he could finish his first, but he hasnt even started yet! So I have gone and signed up for classes and everything to get on track. I do not want to just work to pay chile care. I want to work part time and go to school to be successfull. I dont want to end up like my mom living paycheck to paycheck. My bf is at work for days at a time and it has been tough for our son to adjust. My bf has been getting irritated with him easily and is often too rough with him. Not hitting him but being intimidating and threatening. It really scares our son and kind of freaks him out, he always runs to me heartbroken, all he wants is to spent a little time with dad, but it seems like that is too much to ask outside of the occasional rough housing and wrestling. When I talk to my bf about it and tell him it is unaceptable he rolls his eyes and tells me to shut up and that he will do what he wants. Or he just says "I turned out fine". I do not want this for my son and am done. I have no money and no car. He controls the finances and I have to ask him for any money I need. He either says no or asks what for and then buys it himself. I want to move to clackamas county and get into hud housing until I can save up a little money. But everything says 2 yr waiting list. What do I do? I dont even know how to find hud housing in the area. Can anyone help??? Advice please, and links you do not need to have a job to get hud housing, im talking about hud apartments for low income or no income families. Not buying a house... Read More »
